Frequently asked questions

What's free, and what does the unlock include?

Everything you need to create is free: photo conversion, the full editor with every stitch type and tool, and up to 3 saved projects. A one-time purchase unlocks all export formats — PDF, OXS, PNG, and the .sduck project file — plus unlimited saved projects. There is no subscription.

Can I sell the patterns I make?

Yes. What you design in StitchDuck is yours: we claim no rights to your patterns and take no share of your sales. You can sell the pieces you stitch and the patterns themselves — as PDFs, in your own shop, on Etsy. Commercial use is included in the unlock; there is no separate commercial license. Just make sure you have the right to use any photo or artwork you convert.

Does my purchase work on all my devices?

Yes. The unlock is a single purchase shared across iPhone, iPad and Mac, as long as you're signed in with the same Apple Account. On a new device, open the unlock screen in the app and tap “Restore Purchases”.

Which file formats can I import and export?

Import: OXS, Pattern Maker (.xsd), PCStitch (.pat), and StitchDuck project files (.sduck). Export: PDF, OXS, PNG, and .sduck (SVG on Mac).

Does StitchDuck need an internet connection or an account?

No. StitchDuck works fully offline and has no accounts. The only online step is the optional one-time purchase, which is handled by the App Store.

Where are my projects stored? How do I back them up?

Projects live on your device and are included in your normal device backups (iCloud or computer backups). To move or archive a single project, export it as a .sduck project file and import it on the other device — everything stays fully editable.

How do I report a bug?

Email us at stitchduckapp@icloud.com with your device model, system version, and what you were doing when the problem happened. If the issue is visual, a screenshot or screen recording is the single most helpful thing you can attach.
